A breathtaking scenic route with plenty of tough hills and partially closed roads will set the stage for healthy competition between the Caribbean Islands and the rest of the world.
We are joined by British Olympic Legend Daley Thompson who will be leading some Master Classes leading up to the event including, for those more interested, a week long series of Daley Fitness classes from Monday 13-Friday 17 November each morning on the beach.
We recommend that you arrive at least five days before the race to aclimatise (its always 30 degrees plus and very humid). Come and enjoy the host of pre event parties together with activities (aquathlon, open water swim, master classes as well as the Wednesday pre race meal) in the week leading up to the main event – the triathlon, so make a holiday out of the event and bring your partner/ family or come on your own. A well earned post race party can be added to your entry – a hot buffet meal with 10 drinks included and a chance to mix with fellow competitors and Daley.
St Lucia is a very small British Caribbean Island, set in a lush tropical rain forest and remains very unspoilt. It’s one of the Windward Islands, and it is located midway down the Eastern Caribbean chain, between Martinique and St. Vincent and north of Barbados. St Lucia is only 27 miles long and 14 miles wide.
The Atlantic Ocean laps its eastern shore, while the beaches of the west coast owe their beauty to the calm Caribbean. The triathlon swim is in the Caribbean Sea!
One of the stated aims of the event is to support and grow triathlon in the Caribbean especially in St Lucia. The organising team visit local schools to promote triathlon and encourage the children to get into sport. We encourage athletes to bring out no-longer used triathlon t-shirts to give to the local athletes and volunteers, This went down really well last year, please bring to the race registration.
